Maybe if we wish for it, it might come true. Complaining just seems to make it worse, so let's be frank about it, the world as it exists should never be a perfect world, but it could be better...
What the world really needs is... big companies and governments to get over themselves and start releasing technologies which have been held back for economic and political reasons. I'm sick of reading about fairly intelligent solutions, as an informed reader, only to find resistance from 'unseen' sources.
What the world really needs is... is to start thinking about disassembling democracy. For lack of a better phrase, democracy is at large. Media bombardments limit the validity of candidacy and parties which are becoming too alike for it to serve any valid purpose. At least if we are moving unilaterally as countries do, there is a need see through the title 'democracy' to the 'bureaucracy' which makes it look like things are actually happening (for the people). Governments use the unilateral momentum of politics to act independent of what democracy once was, since there are few or minor alternatives, and very little consultation with the population. Perhaps we should start thinking about 'reinventing democracy', which democratic candidate Barack Obama seems to be interested in more than his running mate John McCain.
What the world really needs is... A sense of humour. There are a number of unwitting traps and slips we make, getting too involved and forgetting, that there is really only one person in the world we have to look after, me (or you, depending on your perspective), I mean ourselves. Remember sometimes that it is ok to laugh at ourselves, at the small ripples in the pond we are making, at the odd shapes of peoples heads (phrenology) and for the liberties we have.
What the world really needs is... to have more voices heard, so fewer people get stuck or trapped in the system, whether it be because you are born in Africa or whether it be because you cannot afford education, or hold a job, there is a need for compassion and understanding in those places we usually don't look for.
What the world really needs is... flowers in every home, and fresh fruit in the mornings. A positive outlook and some good experiences....and a trip to Paris.
Help filter out the crapiness in the world by staying positive. It is only so bad.. because it isn't so good, so lets look at the other world, the 'better world' which makes us sink into reality, inundating us with politics or just plain too much.. work, family finances..etc.
